Hardware Soundy will run on any Amiga model equipped with kickstart 2.0+ Memory A minimum of 512k chip memory 125k of chip memory are used to allocate audio channels and screen 158k of public memory are used to perform miscellaneous operations All remaining memory is used to allocate samples and modules A minimum of 4096 bytes of stack (if launched from Shell) Problems Soundy will conflict with any program that uses audio channels On A1200 you can't play more than 2 samples per time if they are loaded on a F-key due to a bug present in the A1200 keyboard! When loading crunched samples, the playing routine can miss perfection gapping the sound. This occurs because you are in heavy multitask or your processor is too slow to decrunch and play samples at the same time. Remember that Soundy plays using the CPU and not the DMA only! On machines without MMU Soundy can crash after loading of 100 or 200 samples because of memory fragmentation. This is not our fault, sorry for troubles! Testing Soundy was tested on A500+, A1200, A4000/030, A4000/040 without reporting any problems |
